                                         PUNISHING TIMES IN THE PENNINES!

Richyboy & Nick Williamson from SportiveCentral are joined with good mates Stu Thomson and Glenn Rhodes for a stomping session in the Mighty North Pennines!

For the month of March a searing hillfest nearing 90 Miles in length (incorporating over 3000 meters ascent) is enough of a challenge you might say?, but just add that special ingredients of 'Wind' to the mix and we have an unimagineable sufferfest where just completing the route becomes the soul objective!

                                          UK CLIMBS SECTION UPDATE

Last year we ventured on a 'UK CLIMBS' database, for the simple reason that 'UK Climb Profiles & Stats' just don't cut it on the big 'European Profile Websites' due to the relatively small height gain and length?

However lurking in the hidden depths and corners of our land lie some of the most brutal ascents know to man, some of which can deliver the most awful gut-wrenching experience to be had anywhere in Cycling!  UK climbs are not well graded like our continental counterparts, on the contrary our climbs include some of the steepest gradients on the planet.

So we at SportiveCentral thought it a fitting tribute that we pay homage to our own UK Brutes, a database which would provide the reader with good accurate data surrounding each climb.

This could prove very useful for anyone embarking on a Sportive in uncharted territory, or if they are simply exploring an area, there's nothing worse than encountering a total killer when you were expecting a mediocre effort? 

So far, we have virtually all of the Scottish brutes included, nearly all of the Lake District Killers, Most of the swines from the NY Moors & the Yorkshire Dales.

Many more to go but we intend to slowly build it up so we include all the badboys in the Land, and we will be providing more data with many more photos as we go.

The North Pennines, Peak District, Wales, Cornwall etc are all next on the hit list!
