My 2004 French Alps Trip
Thursday, 28 January [0 comments]

A retrospective write up of my first Continental Trip

The location was the French Alpes

                                             The Year was 2004

The trip must do's:- Alpe d'Huez , Col du Galibier , Col de La Croix de Fer

I've tried my best to recall the experience and convey it with an honest and accurate appraisal

But it was 6 years ago.....

Maybe helpful if you are planning a trip to the Area or have intentions on riding the brutal 'La Marmotte' Sportive?....or maybe it will be just nice to read about cracking scenery and pleasant weather while we are in the grip of this freezing dismal winter?....If you fancy a read then just look in the 'Blogs' Section...Cheers, Richyboy.

Here come's winter
Monday, 19 October [0 comments]

 Here comes Winter!

Winter's fast approaching, cold dark mornings and even colder dark nights!

Bringing with it a cyclist's greatest fear - Black Ice!

Salted Roads - real good for all the intricate bike componentry?

Overshoes, Winter Gloves, Base Layers, Full Bibs, Head warmers - Essentials!

Not too much happening on the Cycling front aswell, winters a tough time for sure!

At Sportivecentral we will be working through the bleak months on the 2010 Calendar.

We will also try and finish the huge database of 'UK Climbs'

And also maybe a couple of write ups of times gone by?

Including the French Alpes, Pyrenees & Ventoux
